A trilingual directory with a right-to-left Arabic version, designed in from the start.
Context
An online directory had to serve French-, English- and Arabic-speaking audiences.
Problem
The Arabic version couldn't be a simple translation: right-to-left reading changes layout, navigation and forms.
Solution
We designed the interface for RTL from day one: logical CSS properties, page direction driven by language, suitable typography and dedicated URLs per language for SEO.
Result
The directory is available in three languages with an equivalent experience in each, including right-to-left Arabic.
